But again stressing on the fact that mascara is black goop applied very closely to the eye it is important for us ladies to pick the best to cut down on any possible health risks.
Of course the best solution is to not use mascara, but that’s not really an option now is it? Did you know that conventional mascara contains polyvinyl? Doesn’t that just give you the creeps – applying liquid plastic to your eyes?
Well if it does then you ought to consider making the switch to an eco-friendly one such as Josie Maran’s cosmetic line or Honeybee Gardens where they use all non-toxic stuff such as beeswax and flower extracts. And you’d think because it’s all natural it likely won’t produce the results you are used to or it will give you raccoon eyes when used in humidity but it actually won’t.
Perhaps it gets some getting used to because the texture upon application is going to feel quite thin/watery but exposure to air will help build up the texture. It doesn’t clump or run (water proof not resistant so there’s a difference).
If you’re not convinced by what I say then perhaps a video of Jose Maran giving her eco-mascara the crying test will help sell the idea to you. Her mascara is a little special because like all her makeup products, it contains Argan Oil, it’s parabean free, it’s organic & natural, not tested on animals, toxin free, petrochemical free and effective!
And just to clarify any doubts, these eco versions of mascara come in as many colour choices as your conventional brands – okay maybe not as many but the basic colours are always there. But what does it matter – how many people wear ‘green coloured mascara’ to work everyday?
