Ingredients of moom organic

Removal of body (arms, under-arms, legs, facial – upperlip) hair has long been part of a woman’s beauty regime. Now I appreciate that it’s probably a cultural affair because some people are of the impression that American women are very particular about it and the average European women are more forgiving. I can’t quite say how for a fact true that statement is, because I think in today’s society, most women regardless of what culture they originate from have come to accept hair removal as ...

Out of all the amusements and attractions a city can offer one of my favorites, and one of the most overlooked, are botanical gardens. These large plots of land offer a sanctuary for more than plant species, they offer sanctuary for people too. A place to separate one’s self from the loud hustle and bustle of city life, a place to rediscover all the glory the natural world has to offer.

The history of these gardens goes back to the sixteenth century, ...

Giving a great is a great thing. It puts smiles on faces and a tickle in your heart; but before you can even reach that stage of handing over the gift you’ve got to go through that painstaking migraine inducing process of decided which gift to give! I mean there are so many considerations to give thought to and usually they include the following (in no particular order):
Cost/Budget Gender Age Personality Recipient’s desire Cost/benefit of investing/giving the item (cost or benefit in this context is about whether ...

Lemons and the lemon flower

Let’s talk about the lovely fruit called lemon today. Why? Well because I’ve just stocked up with about 8 of them and I’ve had people wondering why I seem to buy so many of these organic fruits and ever so often too.

But before that, let’s start off with some ‘nature study’ about this lovely fruit.

Lemons are the aromatic acid citrus fruits of a magnificent tree that can grow to reach 10 to 20 ft (3-6 m) in height which usually has sharp thorns on the twigs.

Lavender

The other day, whilst visiting a friend at her home I came across what I would consider a rather odd sight- a large white egg sitting alone on what seemed to be a terra cotta tray, placed strategically on her coffee table.

You see, my friend has quite the fancy for odd objects so I thought that the egg was probably just one of her many peculiar decorating ornaments. Little did it occur to me that this egg was no ordinary egg (or an egg at all) but instead ...

Ginkgo Biloba, photo source James Field

I think the first thing that comes to mind when someone says the word ‘ginkgo’ is probably health supplements from Ginkgo Biloba which is suppose aid with memory, work as a concentration enhancer as well as an anti-vertigo agent.

Now how just how well Ginkgo Biloba works for those conditions, I’m not certain because I haven’t tried it out for myself. I have however had ginkgo nut served ...

Thyme

I’m sure that I’m not the only one with pets and quite cheeky ones at that. I presently have 3 dogs, but my love for animals extends way past the category of just canines. I’ve had rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehog, hamsters (normal, dwarf & teddies) and more.

What I’m really trying to say is, I’ve got “some” (I don’t claim to be the undisputed expert) experience with animals and the holistic ways of dealing with some of their common problems. ...

Hedgehog being hand fed

Pesticides are bad news, regardless of who or what it is intended for pesticides endanger all life forms not just the pests. Spray pesticide and you end up killing even the good bugs, poisoning your own pets, damaging the soil and knocking the balance out of the eco-system.

But pests are pests and you still don’t want snails and slugs eating up your garden…so what do you do?

Mason Bee House

In life, we often take for granted the little things, yet at the back of it all, it is those little things that truly matters.

I mean how many times have we noticed insects to be more than just insects?

Well today in honour our beloved and irreplaceable champions of eco-sustainability, I thought I’d dedicate a post to the unsung heroes and often neglected little defenders of Mother Nature- the busy bees….

So why are bees important? ...
