One man’s trash is another man’s treasure...we’ve all heard that line before. And usually only 2 things come to mind when I hear someone say it – either the man’s talking about his grand collection of crap or he’s talking about a relationship. But never in my wildest dream did I actually think or see that phrase taking to life literally until Justin Gignac came along with his eccentric idea about boxing garbage ( I don’t mean those things that no one really has a need for but actual ...

This morning when I decided to type in the words –“eco + blue” into my browser’s search bar, I had a different expectation/intention for what would turn up and honestly urinals were not amongst them.
But that’s the great thing about the unexpected isn’t it? It leaves room for wonderful surprises and ‘amusing’ pieces of writings. Well whether or not this one counts as amusing is left to you to decide but one thing I do know is that it is informative so bear with me.

Ecoblue ...

Continuing from yesterday, we’re visiting/introducing to you a world of luxury hidden amongst the many promises of eco-tourism. If you ever had the impression that going eco conscious on a holiday meant living in mud huts and bathing in rivers then this series of article will change that mindset forever.

South East Asia
I know we’ve already listed 2 luxurious resort for this destination but seeming that this region is a very popular vacation spot, it seems only fair that I cover more countries.

Thailand

It’s been a tiring day. I’ve driven miles across town in this sickening hot weather for one meeting after another and frankly it’s got me all worn out. Finally back in the comforts of my home I’m refreshed at the sight of these fantastic holidays advertised in the magazines. There are mesmerising, beautiful, picture perfect promises of tranquillity and everything that I would ever want in recuperation from burnout. Only problem is…such luxury are clearly beyond my means – that is if I want to come home from ...

Bananas...when you hear that word what comes to mind? Are your thoughts drifting somewhere along the lines of:

1.    Monkeys swinging from a tree 2.    Tropical paradise where banana trees form a beautiful silhouette of fans 3.    Yummy sensational ice-cream 4.    A dieter’s friend or foe – depending on if you’re a fan of carbs and the banana diet or not
But what if I told you ...

Shopping bags...you really can’t do without them unless you plan on hand carrying/juggling your groceries. Plastic makes them light and convenient but hardly a good thing on the environment. Sure there’s the bio-degradable plastic bags option but avoidance/reduction of the overall use of plastic bags is still the best. So we turn to reusable bags...but how many among us are turned off reducing our use of plastic by carrying those green coloured bags with the large recycling logo printed on it (not implying that plastic bags look ...

Let us face facts, the modern society of today and our youths do not have great vision. Children as young as 5 are walking around with spectacles powered to 300! I’m not an expert on the matter and by no means an eye specialist but I think that’s pretty severe vision deterioration for a child. But that’s quite beside the point I’m trying to strike out here today.

The idea here is that many people need vision correction or vision aid. It’s a worldwide epidemic in its own right and that just means thousands of people across the globe wear spectacles. And what was ...

If you are as good as I am at ironing then you know you just hate this chore. It’s not that I’m not connected with my inner domesticated side, it’s just that I’m really bad at it. I takes me between 15-30 minutes to iron out a shirt and let me confess that even then it will not be a perfect press.

Under normal circumstances I’d tell myself so what if you can’t iron well and it’s okay to be lousy at it but thinking it through that’s not exactly true. Gone are the days when we used coal, gas ...

Completing the set, here are the other 5 deadly sins against green:

3.    luxuria (extravagance which later became the infamous lust)
I suppose lust is one of the most popular sins of the seven, often linked with obsessive or excessive thoughts and desires of a sexual nature. But the fact is, the sin is actually about the excessive/impure love for something that leaves you in capable of having clarity of mind and rationality of actions. Green ...

The first time I ever heard about the seven deadly sins was sometime during Catholic Education. The next time I truly appreciated it was when it was made the heart of a powerful yet disturbing movie starring the gorgeous Brad Pit! But as much as the movie ‘Seven’ depicted the culpability and vulnerability of our society to the cardinal sins, it is not the first time it has become a theme in art. In fact since the 14th century, the 7 deadly sins were a popular theme amongst artists which gave rise to beautiful artworks that held ingrained in them  reminders of "SALIGIA" ( A mnemonic of the ...
