The perfect engagement

Weddings are a huge affair. The fact that it is a once in a lifetime event and a dream of every young woman makes it a complete stress filled occasion hidden behind the veil of romantic gowns,  carefully selected flowers and an array of whimsical ornaments. But really before you can even get that far into the fairytale, it’s all got to begin with a not so simple decision (is she the right one?) followed by the nerve wrecking moment of ‘asking for her hand’.
And we all know the asking isn’t all in the words…it’s also in the ring! Ahhhh the ring, isn’t it a wonder how when it comes to finding the perfect engagement ring, men suddenly become attentive to details? Well that’s probably because they know what the ring is worth and I don’t mean that purely on a financial value point of view.
Engagement rings are an integral part of a proposal because everything about it spells how you feel about her. Yes, the timeless remark about engagement rings, is how much it should cost but personally I feel that’s subjective. To me what’s more important than the price tag is the design because much like how it is with clothes, food or even colours, every woman has her own unique taste when it comes to jewelry.
I’d just like to add that taking her to the jewelers to pick out her own ring is practical but a complete romance killer.
You have many styles to choose from – modern, classic, retro, antique, vintage etc and you can probably gauge what her preference is from her taste in clothes and décor. You might think that every girl loves diamonds and play it safe with a shinny solitaire but that’s really not true.
And if you think identifying her jewelry style is as easy as looking at her shoes then you might be in for more of a challenge than you had expected.
Thus, to aid all you dedicated men out there on your quest to find the perfect engagement ring, Girl Sustainable will in a series of articles, help you identify your beloved’s ring style and suggest where and how you may find that precious piece in green so stay tuned…
