Organics vs Conventional

When it comes to food and organics are set off against the conventional, it always loses out on getting and holding a patrons’ attention because of some common misconceptions. Listing them in no particular order, the following are likely the most common reasons why people don’t go organic:

The reasons, myth or facts:

  • 1.    The price just isn’t right – organic products cost more than the conventional food products.
  • 2.    Not a product that is easily accessible to – it’s not exactly marketed at every supermarket or grocery store
  • 3.    They are a healthy hassle – organics just can’t beat fast food because the winning idea behind fast food is the fact that it’s fast and convenient, well suited to the lifestyle of the modern working class who just need that ‘bite’ on the go.
  • 4.    They are taste challenged – anything that’s healthy has got to taste like cardboard

The facts reinforced and the myths busted:

  • 1.    Organic products often do cost more, sometime significantly more too, but it’s all for a fair reason. Anything that isn’t chemically induced and sternly follows the path of nature will take time to grow and harvest; and in modest amounts too. So naturally something that is so scarce and consumes so much effort to produce will cost more.
  • 2.    Organic products are costly for reasons set out above, so it’s understandable to find that most retailers won’t stock up on them. I mean it is logical to stores to not lock their money into stocks that just won’t sell.
  • 3.    Organics aren’t any more of a hassle than your conventional food. You can find instant organic food products too. You just have to know where to look. There’s even Backpackers Lightweight Organic Instant Camper’s Food by Water Strider,Instant Noodles by Bio-Farm, Instant wholesome meals by MaryJanesFarm and even Organic Instant Miso Soup by Clearspring. So this is one myth that’s we’re busting!
  • 4.    Organic food doesn’t taste like anything besides food. Without the added chemical taste enhancers, what you’re really tasting is the natural and original taste of that food. Conventional or otherwise, fruits and vegetables are already unpopular as they are among many simply because of the green taste. It’s common to find people pick them off the plate. Therefore it’s obvious that it hasn’t got anything to do with organics but simply a matter of disliking a green taste. Organic food can be your favourite pizza or even fried chicken so don’t be mistaken, organic is simply how the food was farmed and manufactured to be, it isn’t tasteless cardboard crackers.
