It is the night before Christmas… finally after all the rave, the grand day is finally here. All those headaches and fuss about what gifts to buy, what decorations to put up and what dinner to serve is finally going to pay off as families and friends reunite and rekindle the love lost. But for a woman, the fuss really doesn’t stop there, not by a long shot because just like any other event – this is Christmas and she wants, needs and deserves to dress up to the nines to be admired and adored.
Now many may think it’s a bit too late (being the eve of the event) to pull a dramatic change but that’s not necessarily so. Sometimes all it takes is just one change – the best kind I think is when you look so different yet it blends so well no one can tell what has changed. This probably works different for different women but for me any change in your hair is enough to make a noticeable change happen. Personally I think change is fun and it uplifts the spirit. It’s been a tiresome and trying year with the slow economic growth and a change can really give you that new zest to enjoy the festivities.
A person’s hair says a lot about them. Having the right cut can really transform your features but add that with the right colour and it gives that new look essence! Okay so it’s likely going to be quite the rush to book with your stylist at the last minute but the truth is, you really can have beautiful colour change done at home by yourself (having a friend/sister/spouse help you might be better though).
Now I do wish I could safely recommend/introduce and entirely non-toxic hair dye but as far as I know, there isn’t any yet or maybe there is – the closest I can think of is the hair colour range by Act by Nature, LLC. Their hair colorants contain no paraphenylene diamine (PPD) – a known allergen, no ammonia or other amines, no peroxide, no resorcinol, and no parabens! It’s a patent pending 100% plant derived hair dye that comes in 13 shades – yes I agree that’s not many when you compare with the great conventional hair colorant brands out there on the market but the point is they are safe!
The other two option you can consider is Lush’s natural hair pigments (pigments and dyes are different) and Surya Brazil’s henna powder, which was developed with the science of Ayurveda. Surya Brazil is known internationally for its premier organic and natural cosmetics so you can go ahead and give it a try.
For the curious I’ll let you in on a little secret, I’m celebrating Christmas, the last few days of the year and the welcome of a the new year with light brown hair! What about you?
