Eco-Sex

January 6th, 2010 BY Angelina Leigh | No Comments

Right it’s now undeniably the year 2010, and we’ve come a long way since the good old days of our forefathers. What was once taboo is now reduced to mere taboo and honestly what ranks among the most taboo of taboos than open discussions about sex?

Yes today of all things I’d like to talk to you girls about sex and if you really believe there’s such a thing as eco-sex? In fact what comes to your mind when you read that word? Is it:

  • A wonder if it’s a new street coined terminology used to describe a person’s unhealthy attachment to the environment and all things natural? (something like Necrophilia)
  • Sexual activity that is eco-friendly? (sort of like the range of watches Eco-Drive by Citizen Watch Co., Ltd)
  • Sex in an earth friendly location ? (like an eco-holiday)

Well whatever your thought, the fact is I’m not sure if there is a fixed definition of eco-sex. But to me I would see it as engaging in sex/love making that leaves little impact to Mother Earth. So is there really such a thing? Give it a second and think about it, what are the main concerns over having sex? My thought is:

  • Emotional distraught – sometimes it just means that much to some people when sex wasn’t with the right person but can’t quite see the significant impact this one will have on the environment.
  • Deadly & non-deadly but health plaguing diseases

Contrary to popular belief, HIV/AIDS isn’t the worse or only terrible disease that you worry about catching. There are others that will leave you just as desperate to be “longing for death”. So what is the solution? Health experts will tell you that factually the only preventive measure is abstaining,  but the next best thing is picking your partners wisely (know them and know them very well) and being safe by always using prophylactic, ie: condoms. In fact condoms are also one of the encouraged solution to the other problem, unwanted/unplanned pregnancy (contraceptive pills are chemicals and have been linked to many side effects – the more alarming ones being cancer)

And this is where I can tell you sex has a huge impact on the environment. Condoms are made from latex or PU, both take a significant time to breakdown, harming innocent unknowing wildlife in the process. So as an eco-option, there’s bio-degradable lambskin condoms. In fact to be more specific, it’s made from a naturally occurring pouch in a lamb’s intestine, called a caecum, but what’s your take on this?
Would you consider having lamb intestine as part of your love making session? It’s suppose to give a better feel minus the allergy risk with latex condoms and it’s green!
