painkillers

I’m not sure if it’s all age related, but it’s an undeniable fact that the body aches a lot more than it ever did say, 10 years ago. Perhaps it’s a work related hazard, but I’m sure everyone gets aches and pains on different parts of their body at some point in their lives. It could be from a bad night, an over exertion of muscles from sports, it could be from a fall or an accident…or it really could just be age. Either way when the pain gets excruciating, it has us reaching for the bottle of pain killers and we all know how bad it is getting reliant on those is.

So as an alternative why not consider the many natural pain killers that you have right in your kitchen!

Remedy: Ginger

Good bye: Muscle Aches

Application: Have at least 1 teaspoon of dried ginger or 2 teaspoons of chopped ginger in your meals daily

Remedy: Apple Cider

Good bye: Heartburn

Application: Sip 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with 8 ounces of water before every meal.

Remedy: Cloves

Good bye: Toothaches

Application: Chew on a clove to ease tooth pain and gum inflammation that can for up to two hours straight.

Remedy: Cherries

Good bye: Joint pains and headaches (arthritis, gout or chronic headaches)

Application: Cherries contain anthocyanins -the compounds that give cherries their brilliant red color. Anthocyanins are anti-inflammatories that are 10 times stronger than ibuprofen and aspirin. Having a bowl of cherries a day can prevent, as well as treat, many different kinds of pain.

Remedy: Oats

Good bye: Endometriosis pain

Application: Endometriosis pain is something a lot of women suffer, especially during menstruation as little bits of the uterine lining detach and grow outside of the uterus causing excruciating cramps. Opt for a diet rich in oats to reduce endometrial pain within six months.

Remedy: Salt

Good bye: Ingrown nail pain

Application: Regularly soaking ingrown nails in warm salt water baths can cure these painful infections within four days. Salt is a natural anti-bacterial, so it quickly destroys the germs that cause swelling and pain. Just 20 mins in a warm salt soak will cure the infection.
