Well, unlike Middle Earth, Ardalanish is a tranquil living breathing place we can experience and bask in its absolutely mesmerising beauty because Ardalanish is located in Scotland and houses within it the delicate and exquisite Isle of Mull Weavers, home of the Ardalanish Organic Farm.
So what makes Ardalanish Organic Farm so special? Well aside from the possession of a landscape with unrivalled beauty, it is also the place where farming and weaving practises respect nature and ecological balance is strived for.
At the Ardalanish Organic Farm, they believe in the
“… primary importance of understanding the land and its needs and allowing ecological relationships to develop with animals already co-evolved with the environment.”
Through that balance we will then experience a quality and an ethical standard that reflects the natural conditions bequeath to the unique Hebridean landscape.
At the Ardalanish Organic Farm, highland cattle Kyloe and Hebridean sheep are reared for their organic meat and wool. Vegetation of organic turnip and potatoes are also grown on the magnificent farmlands.
Kyloe are the cows of the Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland. They small, predominately black in colour whilst hardy in structure as they calve naturally on the highlands.
Hebridean sheep are very special, beautiful creatures of nature with unique lustrous black wool. And although the shades of the wool will vary from sheep to sheep and from year to year, it only adds to the exclusiveness garments made from it. You will find that the colours of the wool can range anything from black or charcoal brown all the way to silver.
Now if you think Tweeds are boring and knitwear are for grandmothers then it’s pretty obvious you haven’t yet seen the designs of the Ardalanish Isle of Mull weavers because they are absolutely beautiful and not to mention organic! Using the natural un-dyed Hebridean wools of the Ardalanish sheep,. Isles of Mull weavers have worked the lustrous brown black wool in all its subtlety to create their unique and eminence collection labelled Ethical tweeds.
From throws to scarves and shawls to bothy mats and much more, the Isle of Mull weavers have a collection that is nothing less than amazing. And as though that wasn’t good enough, you most certainly have to see the couture Ardalanish Collection by Anja Hynynen.
Anja Hynynen is a young Swedish designer well renowned for her creation of beautiful jackets, trousers and skirts that are as unique and original as the Organic and Ethical Tweeds of Ardalanish from which they are made.
Her designs are simply breathtaking with a signature feminine elegance that has won my vote of admiration and awakened my desire to own them. With names like the Hedgehog Jacket, Minty Trousers, Malin Flounce Coat and Hedgehog Bolero (just to name a few) to stir the curiosity of anyone who hears it, the sight of her organic creations will leave you in desire for them.
Ardalanish, a celtic land with natural beauty of mythical proportions- the home of the Isle of Mull Weavers, Kyloe and Hebridean sheep, the place where the magic of organic farming and weaving creates feminine organic fashion.

Sounds exquisite. I was able to travel and see beautiful organic farms cheaply by volunteering to work on them through the WWOOF network.
I know on this side of the world, we are now making an effort to work with nature but I think everyone needs to on board for it to have a significant impact.
