Bamboo your baby. Bamboo him from his or her cute little head all the way down to his twinkle toes!
Well of course when I say bamboo what I really do mean is just that wonderful textile fabricated from the natural fibres of the bamboo plant – the pulp to be precise. You’d be amazed to find that bamboo the very plant famed for its hard stems can have such a soft side…
Now if you wonder why bamboo fibre? And more importantly why choose it over the conventional tradition of clothing your baby in super soft cotton, then read on because I’m going to tell you why the world is singing praises for bamboo fibre.
You see while organic bamboo fibre is just a plant based as organic cotton is, bamboo fibre does have a few more notches on its belt to boast of. Let’s take a swift run over them:
· When you think soft texture, you’d be inclined to think cotton. But bamboo fibre can actually beat that because it’s got the feel of cashmere and silk. It’s all green luxurious softness, perfect to dress the delicate skin of your baby.
· Cotton is the traditional choice when you want something with good breathing properties but because the cross-section of the fibre is filled with various micro-gaps and micro-holes, which means it has much better moisture absorption and ventilation. Its moisture absorbency ability is measurable to be twice that of cotton.
· Bamboo fibre textile is super absorbent and can evaporate sweat very quickly so it won’t leave you sticky. I suppose it works just like dry-fit fabric.
· It comes packed with “Bamboo Kun” a natural antibacterial agent. That means bamboo fibre fabrics have a natural bacteria repellent.
· Its natural elasticity makes 100% bamboo woven fabrics a remarkable elastic without the need for elastomeric fibres (elastanes)
· Now as the absorption rate of Bamboo fabrics is significantly more prominent. It consumes less dyestuff than cotton, modal or viscose. Bamboo fibres not only absorb colours fast, it presents them much better too!
· It’s quite the super fibre because it possesses natural a shield like quality that protects against ultraviolet radiation. The anti-ultraviolet nature of bamboo fibres makes fabrics spun from it ideal for summer clothing as it has the natural ability to protect your delicate baby from those nasty effects of ultraviolet rays!
· Last but not least, bamboo fibre is eco-friendly and bio-degradable. Therefore any product made 100% from it is obviously sustainable and green!
