Everyone who knows me well would know that I am all out for all things natural (organic where means allow so). My husband has long resigned to the fact that essential oils will forever more be in just about everything from our bath supplies to the sweet air that fills our home, any protest from him to put simply is merely a feeble attempt, a failure that is sure to happen.
Sure we have come upon some who think of our lifestyle as a strange and eccentric one but I must say they are mistaken. Like every household, we are just a family that wants health and wellness in our lives and I strongly believe that a balance in that want with the respect for nature is the secret to achieving it. I shall admit that I am not one of those hardcore activists who chain themselves to trees but I love Mother Earth for all she has provided for us and I respect her and try my level best to protect her by leading a sustainable lifestyle – a lifestyle that I am trying to promote along with my fellow peers here at Girlsustainable.
I am inclined to believe that good health and wellness comes from within. If the body is showing signs of illness it really isn’t just about an organ failing, it is likely also the result of a shift in balance in the person as a whole- unhealthy emotions festering in a person can drive them quite ill at an alarming pace.
Even if you don’t believe in alternative medicine and hold fast to modern medicine, you would not be opposed to the theory that the mind is a very powerful and its abilities are still a wonder. Hence non physically identifiable illnesses such as depression create greater harm to the physical body because pills and operations cannot mend what it cannot see.
But that’s where nature has the hold above modern medicine and that’s why I love immersing myself and my family in a natural lifestyle, aromatherapy, Phytotherapy and aromacology (we only use non-sythetic). Having the right elixir from Mother Nature will heal you in ways you never imagined. If you eat healthy, it strengthens your mind and body, aromacology would lift your spirits and aromatherapy would do wonders you never expected. With aromatherapy the effect on physical ailments such as skin disorders show up quite fast, those that involve emotions take a bit of time but it does work, especially on depression.
So to those who are new to our website and new to the idea of living a sustainable lifestyle, I implore that you set aside your judgments and misconceptions that we are a bunch of green looneys and learn to appreciate that supporting Mother Earth doesn’t mean we all live without electricity or modern technology. It simply means we respect nature and try our level best to make our lifestyle as little intrusive as possible to her. After all, when nature thrives, we thrive with it.
