So we know about the dangers of conventional nail polish and the safer eco alternative available, but beautiful nails aren’t just about the colour coatings, it is also about the condition of the nail itself. For some beautiful healthy nails that grow long without breaks or chips come naturally but to most others much help is required to attain that similar level of perfection.
Much like hair extensions, nail extensions are acquired to serve the same purpose…to give one instant longer, thicker and impossibly perfect looking nails. Now I used to think that nail extensions were just about sticking on falsies onto your actual nail, but there’s a lot more to it than just fit, paste and go.
There’s the selection of which type of artificial nail extension- acrylic or gel or fibre, the adhesive used and the right manicurist to do the job is by no means an easy task. Similar to hair extensions, if done wrongly you’ll find yourself with not just infected nails but also one with retarded growth. On top of that the chemicals used in the glue will do absolutely no favours for you or the environment.
Doing a bit of research (I’ve only ever tried donning paint with nail enhancers once)I found that there’s a greener option for nail extensions and the glue used. In terms of the extension, there’s a company LCN USA that came up with Light Concept Nails (LCN) – a non-acrylic alternative to conventional nail extensions that is light cured resin with a smooth, honey-like consistency similar to gel.
Developed by German chemists and researchers, LCN provides a stronger, longer-lasting nail treatment where there are:
- • NO Harmful Ingredients
- • NO Unpleasant Odors
- • NO “Fake Nail Syndrome”
- • NO Breaking
- • NO Limits; and
- • NO Problems
I haven’t tried this for myself but I just might to test out the representations….
