Christmas is a time spent with family and loved ones. It’s a lovely opportunity to catch up on lost times and rekindles relationships. Now while not all may agree and feel the same but personally I’ve always taken my pets for family and with Christmas being a family holiday, they are not forgotten and neglected from any part of it. That means, they have their share of the Christmas lunch/dinner, gathering/involvement with the ‘family  hour’ in the living room and without a doubt the excitement of opening presents moment on Christmas morning.

Now if you ask me what I normally for my furbabies,  well it’s quite simple – for each of them, I have a stocking that I fill up with gifts – there’s the usual combination of

  • 1.    Special and extraordinary lovely delicious snack food
  • 2.    Toy
  • 3.    Accessories/Apparels
  • 4.    Bedding/supplies

For those who share my enthusiasm, then here are some suggestions to make your little furbaby’s Christmas morning a fun filled one:

1.    Delicious organic Snack Food
In this category, your choices are a dime a dozen. But the fact is you don’t want that same boring box of organic healthy dog biscuits, instead you want something different from the ordinary like:

2.    Toys
Much like children, pets love toys. They appreciate them with excitement and enthusiasm so how can you deny your pet of a new toy for Christmas? Consider the following:

As the retailer puts it, ‘The Eco Canedeer Dog Toy is all the fun without the sugar!’. What’s super great is how the toy is made from recycled soda bottles but doesn’t look a bit like it!

Made from a soft durable fabric with recycled fill and contains a squeaker, Rudy is a reindeer soft toy that represents the fun of the season. It is absolutely adorable and your dog will love it

If plush toys aren’t quite what you want for your dog, then consider this treat hiding toy. It will keep your pet entertained for most of the day.

3.   Accessories
I’m not really one for dressing up the pets in fancy clothes but a lovely collar – pretty, comfortable and green goes a long way. If you’re up for this suggestion then you might be able to find something lovely at :

That have many collars to choose from within their Eco Friendly Range.

Bamboo collars that are stunningly beautiful, I’d recommend you have a look at the Eco Dog Bamboo Collar with matching leash. It’s so cute and cheery looking with wonderful green effects on both the environment and your dog.

Their Butterfly Garden Dog Collar is so sweet looking.  Made with a cork overlay and bamboo fabric design of  green and yellow flowers matched with a lovely brown buckle, it gives that impression of a meadows’ feel.  Another one to fall for is the Springtime Bamboo collar with its’ beautiful purple and pink flower design – romantic all the way!

4.   Bedding
Pampered pooches love luxury beddings. So if you have enough set aside/budgeted sufficient for such a luxury then consider the following:

Note that beddings are very costly and they obviously don’t fit in a Christmas stocking so this one’s hardly a stocking filler!
