Spooktacular Hallowgreen (Part 1)

Halloween’s just around the corner; to be precise it’s just less than 2 weeks away. To those hosting a party or getting a child ready for the event that’s not a lot of time left on the clock. There’s so much to do and even more if you want it to be kept safe and green.

Now when you think of Halloween a few things are an absolute must. In no particular order they are:

  • 1.    Halloween Candy
  • 2.    Halloween Decorations
  • 3.    Halloween pumpkin
  • 4.    Halloween Party Invitations
  • 5.    Halloween party treats
  • 6.    Halloween party gifts
  • 7.    Halloween costumes

And if you’re going to make your Halloween a spook-ta-cularly green one, then follow the following tips:

1.    Halloween Candy
Swap those conventionally made, neon coloured candy for their organic counterparts. Sure it will cost you more but these certified organic sweets will be worth your while. However, I’d like to stress that candy is still candy regardless of whether or not it is of organic make. So too much of it will still make your child sick.

2.    Halloween Decorations

Decorations are expensive so the first rule is to REUSE all that you can. Buying new ones while your old ones are still good isn’t just a waste of money; it’s a waste creating activity. However I do appreciate that sometimes things get a little boring and you’d like to spice it up with some new additions. In this case if you’re not going to use your old ones anyone, try to pass them on to someone else who will. Then before you go shopping for your new decorations, consider how the most beautiful and unique Halloween decorations are actually handmade and easily done so in the comforts of your own home with scraps that you have lying around. And try to incorporate as much natural items as you can into your decor (try pumpkins, gourds, straw bales and corn husks) as they are not just bio-degradeable but also edible – that way you can literally ‘eat’ your decorations away after the festivities.
